Jogasaki Coast

‘ SUPENSION BRIDGE IN JOGASAKI ‘

A magnificent rias coast formed from the lava of the Amagi Volcano. The coast line is a row of cliffs and a grand spectacle that extends from promontory to promontory. The suspension bridge across the sea at Kadowakizaki Point is a truly thrilling sight with a length of 48 m and a height of 23m. There is a hiking course running along the coast for 9km.

Lake Ippekiko

Ippekiko which is referred to as the 'Eye of Izu' is the only lake in the Izu Peninsula with a 4km circumference. It is a particularly beautiful region with the cherry blossoms in spring and the leaves of autumn where you can enjoy boating and fishing.

‘ AZALEAS IN Mt.KOMURO ‘

The flowers and plants of Izu are found here throughout the four seasons. In December, there are early blooming camellias, and there is also the "Camellia Garden" in which there are 1,000 different types of camellias for a total of 4,000 plants collected from around the world. From the end of April there are 100,000 azaleas blooming, and the "Azalea Festival" is held from May 3-5 with tea ceremonies and koto iJapanese harpj performances and so on.

‘ CHERRY-BLOSSOM VILLAGE ‘

Sakuranosato(Cherry Park)

| A beautiful park where 35 different types of cherry trees are planted totaling 3,000 trees covering 40,000cm2 at the foot of Mt. Omuro.There are cherry trees blooming continuously from September to June. The festival at the cherry park is held in April every year and many tourisuts come to view the cherry blossoms. There are also the cosmos in bloom from July to early Autumn, the rape blossoms from winter to spring and hemerocalis in the beginning of summer. |

Mt.Omuro

| The mountain is curved like an inverted traditional Japanese bowl. It is covered by pastures 581m above sea level. At the peak there is a large volcanic crater. From the mountain peak there is a 360 degree panoramic view of Oshima, Izu Shichito Islands, the Amagi Chain, Mt.Fuji and the mountains extending to Hakone. We can also tell the seasons by the colour of the mountain. The brown dry grass is winter, the black of the burnt grass is March, the fresh green grass is early summer, deep green of summer leaves and the silver of Japanese pampas grass is autumn. |

Camellia Garden at Mt. Komuro

‘ CAMELLIA-GARDEN Mt.KOMURO PARK ‘

There are 1,000 different types of camellias for a total of 4,000 plants collected from around the world covering 15,000cm2. The garden is in bloom from October to the end of April. The best time to view is in February.
